Many students are passive and get scores below the KKM. Teachers must have strategies so that children get high marks. The author conducts research by applying planted questions strategy (engineering questions) so that children are active in class and get scores above the KKM. The author conducted research using the above strategies: 1. Student learning outcomes by applying the planted questions learning strategy were higher than those using the expository strategy. 2. The normality test was carried out with the Liliefors test which resulted in Lcount of 0.127 and Ltable of 0.161 for the experimental group, while for the control group there were Lcount of 0.140 and Ltable of 0.161 with a significance level of = 0.05, because for both groups each obtained Lcount < Ltable, it can be concluded that the data of the two groups is normally distributed. Homogeneity testing was carried out with Fisher's test (F test) which resulted in Fcount of 1.15 at a significance level of = 0.05 because Lcount was smaller than Ftable of 1.80 (1.15<1.80), so it was concluded that the variance data of the two groups is homogeneous. Hypothesis testing using t-test obtained Tcount = 2.138 at the significance level = 0.05 with degrees of freedom dk = 58 obtained Ttable = 1.671 then Tcount < Ttable then Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted which states that there is a significant increase in student learning outcomes between classes experiment by applying planted questions strategy and the control class by applying the expository strategy of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Cikarang Barat.
