Abstract

Among the many obligations of parents in educating their children is to command prayers when the child is seven years old. This is the beginning to get children used to praying and it is one of the education that parents must give to their children. Based on the results of the author's research on the pedagogical values ​​of the hadith commanding prayer for children aged seven years HR. Abu Daud (analysis of Islamic education science) can be concluded that: (1) The stages of development of religious appreciation of children aged seven years are; a) Religious attitudes are receptive but accompanied by understanding; b) The views and understandings of divinity are explained rationally based on logical principles that are based on indicators of the universe as a manifestation of His existence and majesty; c) Deeper spiritual appreciation, carrying out rituals that are accepted as moral imperatives; (2) The concept of education for children aged seven years is; a) Physical skills education; b) Social education to get along; c) Education in reading, writing and counting; d) Religious moral education; e) Education to carry out religious orders; (3) The pedagogical values ​​contained in the hadith commanding prayer for children aged seven years are; a) Moral education; b) Faith education; c) Education in worshiping Allah SWT; d) Education in growing children; e) Education to familiarize children with prayer.
