Abstract

This research is about Islamic boarding school management in developing the character of santri in Pesisir Selatan Regency, found four main things, namely: First, planning for developing the character of santri is generally based on the vision and mission of the Islamic boarding school, then reduced to the form of Islamic boarding school policy, curriculum (Islamic boarding school and national), and hidden curriculum. Second, the organization of character development for Islamic boarding school students is generally based on the division of work structures to divide roles and responsibilities hierarchically. The foundation or kyai as protectors. Implementers are then adjusted based on their main duties in stages, starting from teachers, ustadz, dormitory supervisors, and senior students. Third. The main character development of santri is generally carried out throughout the educational process in Islamic boarding schools where the main strength of character development of santri lies in the "Islamic boarding school's force culture" through Islamic boarding school learning and extracurricular supporting activities. Fourth, supervision of student character development is carried out structurally, starting from the foundation, madrasa heads, teachers, dormitory development, and senior students.
